Who Benefits?
Collectively, the eight organizations supported by the Silicon Valley Campaign for Legal Services benefit:
- Low-income individuals and families
- Children and youth
- Seniors
- Survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault
- Immigrants and refugees
- People with disabilities or mental health challenges
- Veterans
- Tenants facing eviction or unsafe housing
- Workers experiencing wage theft or employment issues
- Consumers affected by fraud or abusive debt collection
- Individuals seeking healthcare or public benefits
Together, these organizations form the civil legal aid safety net for Silicon Valley, helping thousands of people each year obtain legal assistance that protects their housing, safety, health, income, family stability, and access to justice. Donors to the Campaign support the entire civil legal aid ecosystem in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, not just one organization and its specific programs, providing flexible funding that strengthens the overall legal aid network and encourages collaboration among legal aid providers. At the end of the day, the Campaign’s funding helps ensure that the organizations that work most closely with the communities they serve receive funding.
